I need to do this trip every year. and worthwhile! Awesome views of Mount Hood from the summit. Beautiful forest, including some standing old-growth and some captivating ancient hollow snags. It was a little tricky hanging onto by our fingernails as we ascended next to Disappointment Falls, but that was a LOT craig tami body pump easier than dealing with Disappointment Ridge (and the other ridges above it). I only made it part of the way up Linton Creek, following a clear (though unmaintained) trail until I reached an insurmountable cliff. considerably more elevation gain than Vista Ridge Trail (app 2500'), but the benefit is a rare viewpoint of the mountain and an overlook of the Coe canyon. Although the hike length was "only" four miles, it was fairly challenging. September 30Linton Lake / Linton FallsTodays Mileage: 5WOO-HOO! I finally made it to Linton Falls (and Lower Linton Falls), and the skies cooperated with glorious overcast conditions.
The use trail mentioned in William Sullivan's "Northwest Oregon Hikes" book has been decommissioned so that the meadow through which it runs can recover. . the Willamette Valley from Eugene to Salem, the Three Sisters, Mount Washington, Three Fingered Jack, Mount Hood, and Mount Rainier in the hazy distance. The trail above Cloud Cap Shelter up to the summit lives up to its billing it is indeed well-graded, but there's still the little issue of elevation.

FUN! October 29Tamanawas FallsTodays Mileage: 4Returned to Cold Spring Creek with Tom, to capture some fall colors and (finally) get some decent photos of this amazing waterfall.
This time we stayed at creek level nearly the entire way, which proved to be much easier. Still, the elevation gain on the front half of this hike is good exercise.

Shortly thereafter, an unending procession of clouds began streaming in from the southwest, passing in front of Illumination Rock, Reid Glacier, Sandy Glacier, and finally curling around Barrett Spur on their way to destinations north and east. We then took the very steep descent to Eden Park, climbed back up to Cairn Basin.

The waterfall is great, of course, but Ramona Creek is sublime. mighty Linton Falls, which roars high above Linton Lake. In addition to the three waterfalls along Squaw Creek, I also forded the ice-cold creek then bushwhacked up a steep ridge to photograph a beautiful waterfall on the South Fork. In particular, the appearance of Middle North Falls changes drastically with the seasons, but it is always wonderful. When I first started hiking this trail last year, I could never make it the entire way without at least one (and usually several) stop(s).
Plenty of mosquitos and other critters, but the DEET held them at bay.

For one thing, I was at least a month (probably closer to two months) too late to enjoy the wildflowers. View from the summit was terrific. In addition to the sunset, I was treated to an interesting cloud display. I expect that July would be a tips for running track wonderful time to visit this trail. But I followed suraj hua maddam lyrics Forrest's advice and visited Collier Cone, which was strenuous but awesome.

The light was terrible on Upper Parker Creek Falls, and I cristiana gratis musica oir didn't have enough gas left in the tank to make the climb to Upper Trestle albany ny radio station Creek Falls, so I need to go back.

Despite having made at least a dozen trips to nearby Proxy Falls, this was my first visit to Linton Lake, more as a scouting expedition than anything else. At first it looked as though it was a plume of steam emitting from the mountain itself.

This would probably make for an outstanding wildflower hike during mid- to late-July. Mount Rainier was faintly present between MSH and Adams as well. This was the highest hike I had ever done, and I definitely felt a bit light-headed.
